Synopsis of content
About Returners Gateway
There is a wealth of experience being squandered because talented individuals lack options to return to executive positions following career breaks. The Talent Gateway returners program was established, in order to assist those people not quite work ready to gain access to rewarding work, regain lost confidence and re-estalish connections with the world of work.
CV, LinkedIn or Both
1.CVs: An overview of how to sell yourself on a CV when you are a parent returner; the common pitfalls to avoid; what employers are looking for; use of Applicant Tracking Systems – an explanation of what they are and how they are used in the recruitment process
2.LinkedIn: explaining what it is, who uses it; the benefits of using LinkedIn, how to set yourself up on LinkedIn & what key things to include and do to make sure it works for you.
Mind the Gap
Does your career feel as if it happened in another lifetime? This interactive workshop will explore how to effectively bridge the gap between life and career before children (BC) – and life after children (AC) and give you strategies to reconnect to your strengths and skills as well as embrace all that you have gained since becoming a Mum.
We will take a look at the two biggest barriers to returning to work and/or changing career direction – namely Fear and Figuring out what to do next – and explore how to deal with these.
We will also explore the values that motivate your career choices; how these develop and change over time, and will bust the myths and tackle the guilt gremlins that often get in the way of moving forward with confidence.
What to wear and feel confident
1. Understand the importance of 1st Impressions and how to make the very best impression that you can.
2. How to dress so that all your skills, expertise and experience shine through and you get noticed for the right reasons.
